UNITED KINGDOM - JULY 20: Chromogenic print by Tony Ray-Jones of a bottle of Coca-Cola surrounded by typically American objects such as a Confederate soldier�s cap, the Stars and Stripes, and Disney toys. British born photographer Tony Ray-Jones (1941-1972) received an MFA diploma from the Yale University School of Art, Conneticut in the summer of 1964. For the next few months he spent his energies photographing the street life of New York which included festivals, demostrations and parades. Class was to be a constant theme in his work and he took special interest, when in the USA, in the American underclass.
