A French gendarme takes position near the site of a proposed dam in the Sivens forest on March 5, 2015 to stop pro-dam farmers from reaching the site as some 40 environmental activists protesting the project continue to occupy the "zone to defend" (ZAD) area. The farmers, who are blocking roads leading to the ZAD area, argue that the dam will provide much-needed irrigation for their fields, but anti-dam activists say the project poses a huge environmental threat to the Sivens wetland.
