CENTENNIAL , CO - JUNE 7: Hindu priest Viswanathan Arunachalam, who came from San Diego, CA, takes part in the Havan ritual during the Grand opening ceremony of the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center in Centennial Colorado on June 7, 2015. The Havan ceremony uses chanting and mantras to invoke the deities and fire to melt sandalwood and turmeric. The culturally rich ceremony lasted 3 days and many hours . Nine Hindu priests, seven of whom came from all over the nation to take part, and two local ones, led the Murti Sthapana (diety installation) and the Prana Pratishtha (infusion of life) ceremonies for hundreds of local Indian hindus from the Denver area to officially open the new temple (Photo By Helen H.
