03 June 2009, Beijing, China --- Tourists visit the Beijing's Forbidden City, was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, and is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world. Original construction of the Forbidden City began in 1406 AD requiring an estimated 3 million workers and the costs nearly bankrupted the Ming Dynasty under its third emperor Zhu Di.
