Old Trains in Lebanon

Obsolete steam engines lie rusting at what was once a major international rail hub in Tripoli, Lebanon on February 07, 2013. Lebanon's railway system was inaugurated in 1895 but fell into disrepair after the 1975-1990 civil war. The last regular service, which ferried cement from factories in the north of the country to Beirut, ceased in 1997. At it's peak, the line allowed rail travel from Europe to Northern Africa.
