2015 Women Playwrights International Conference

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - JUNE 30 (SOUTH AFRICA OUT): A panel discussion from left to right by Theatre Director at Theatre Arts Admin Collective, Caroline Calburn, political activist and Managing Director at Siyasanga Cape Town Theatre Company, Fatima Dike and actress and Artistic Manager at Soweto Theatre, Warona Seane, on the current state of South African theatre around women in theatre and the representation of South African feminisms on stage at the 10th Women Playwrights International Conference on June 29, 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa. The conference at the Hiddingh Campus of the University of Cape Town (UCT) is attend by delegates from 28 countries and is on till 3 July 2015. Each day of the conference focus on a different theme, drawing together workshops, talks and play readings based on the topic of the day. Women Playwrights International (WPI) is dedicated to planning and convening international conferences for women playwrights, which have brought together women playwrights and allied theatre artists, cultural workers and scholars together since 1988.
