Tall Ships Exy Johnson, left, of the Los Angeles Maritime Institute, and Californian, right, operated by the San Diego Maritime Museum, sail at sunset during the 26th annual Tall Ships Festival at Dana Point. Eight traditionally rigged ships were open for touring demonstrations of life at sea. The ships staged a mock battle with cannons. Children dressed up as pirates and toured the ships with characters in period costumes.
