QINGDAO, CHINA - APRIL 15: The Qingdao factory of China's CSR Co. Ltd is one of the major producers of high-speed trains in China, with these models being worked on will e able to reach 350 kilometers and hour, the fastest for any currently operating passenger trains, and are scheduled to be put in use on new high-speed lines around the country as China rapidly emerges as the world's leader in high-speed train technology.Ê But China isn't stopping just at expanding it's own high-speed network, which will eventually link cities from Tianjin and Beijing in the North all the way down to Guangzhou in the South.Ê The Beijing government hopes to get a toehold in the American market, after President Obama's 2009 stimulus package included $8 billion in seed money for high speed pilot projects in the US.Ê The CSR company plans to bid on those projects, and trains like these from this Qingdao factory could one day be in operation in Florida and California.
