Two men carries roofing sheet from demolished homes following a court ruling which forcefully evicted residents of Badiya community at Ijora distict of Lagos, on September 18, 2015. Hundreds of people were rendered homeless and their means of livelihood destroyed following a court ruling in favour of a local chief Abdul Fatai Oyegbemi Aromire, who went to court to reclaim the land on which the residents were allegedly occuping illegally. While the case was in court, those affected by the ruling claimed they were not party to the lawsuit, and were not given any chance to appeal against their eviction.
