Market For Alligator Meat Booms In Florida

Juan Rios, head skinner for All American Gator Company, works in the processing plant where he butchers an alligator for the meat and hide on May 7, 2015 in Arcadia, Florida. Brian Wood, the owner of All American Gator, said that the price of alligator meat has more then doubled, which is in line with a recent report that stated that wild and farm-raised alligator meat is fetching between $12 to $15 per pound wholesale, up from $6 to $7 per pound in 2012.
