The interior of Nossa da Senhora da Encarnacao is opulently baroque, despite being a much older church, but the earthquake of 1755, which almost erases it from the map, caused it to rise again almost from its foundations. The greatest treasure inside this church, the largest in Chiado, is a stature of the Virgin Mary, the work of Machado de Castro and the magnificent organ that we see in the image.
