Higashi Naruse Village, Akita Prefecture, Japan- October 3, 2018: The source of hot spring water is gushing out with the smell of sulphur in Sugawa Plateau; one of the starting points of trail up to Mt Kurikoma. Autumn colors of Sugawa Plateau (1100-1300 meter high), which is a part of Mt Kurikoma located on the border of Miyagi, Iwate and Akita Prefectures in northeastern Japan. The mountain is famous for its beautiful autumn foliage, consisting of beech, rowan, maple and other alpine trees. Mt Kurikoma is a volcano with the height of 1626 meters. Lake Showa was created after the volcanic eruption of 1944.
