U.S. Seizes Ponzi

Charles Ponzi's last hopes of blocking deportation to Italy disintegrated on July 12th at Boston, MA as completely as he bubble of 1920. Governor Ely denied his petition for a full pardon, on which the wizard of illegal finance based his hopes of being permitted to remain in this country. After a state house hearing before the governor, dramatized by Ponzi's own eloquent plea and the tears of his wife, Mrs. Rose Ponzi, they kissed, and Ponzi started for the immigration station at East Boston, where he is here shown surrendering to immigration Commissioner, Mary Ward, and was at once locked up.
