Cleveland, Ohio: Bill Veeck (above), youthful president of the Cleveland Indians, back in the hospital for the second time in a year to have his amputated leg worked on, flashes a big grin as he listens to radio reports of his clubs' 6-1 win over Philadelphia. Veeck, injured while a Marine on Bougainville, had his right foot amputated about a year ago, and yesterday had an additional two inches taken from the stump, due to irritation from overuse of his artificial limb.
