Yukimura Attempts to Assassinate Ieyasu by Yoshitoshi

On his rise to supreme power, Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, made many enemies. Dissatisfied with the results of his alliance with Ieyasu, Sanada Yukimura rebelled against him. During the seige of Osaka in 1615 he hid in a lotus pond and attempted to assasssinate him.
