Outer Space Treaty Ratified. The ratification of the space treaty that, among other things, prevents a big power from annexing the moon, takes place at the foreign office in London. Signing for their respective countries are: (L. to R.) Mr David Bruce (US Ambassador), Mr George Brown (Britain's Foreign Secretary), and M. Vladillen M. Vasev (Soviet Charge d' Affairs). The treaty on principles governing the activities of states in the Exploration and use of space, including the moon and other celestial bodies, was signed in London last January. Today, Mr. Brown recieved Instruments of Ratification, and Certificates of Deposit were signed and exchanged. A main point of the treaty is the non-appropriation of celestial bodies and outer-space.
