Poperinghe, Belgium - April 27 - The Talbot House in Poperinghe was a calm oasis for WW1 soldiers. They could leave the front lines around Ypres and stay at Talbot and mix with all ranks for some peace and quiet. It is now run as a museum and B and B. Walking the Western Front. Close to half a million Canadians served overseas in the First World War mostly in the battle lines of the Western Front through Belgium and northern France.
