Japanese Prime Minister Signs Treaty

(Original Caption) Second Treaty For the Japanese. San Francisco, California: Shigeru Yoshida, Prime Minister of Japan, signs the Bilateral Security Treaty with the United States in the San Francisco Presidio. The Security Treaty, which was signed shortly after the signing of the Japanese Peace Treaty, permits American land, sea and air forces to remain in and around Japan after the Peace Treaty becomes effective. September 8, 1951.
