UK - Aerospace - Pilot protection

A variety of new high-tech weapon systems are on dispaly for potential customers during the Farnborough Airshow. This display shows various helmets and clothing for fighter and other pilots made by the Gentex Corporation which 'manufactures products to support human performance and survival in extreme work and training environments'. The family owned business has been a long-time supplier of military equipment such as pilot helmets and other life support gear and also equipment for ground troops such as helmets and chemical protective garments. Gentex was the original supplier for astronaut helmets that were used early in the Space Shuttle program and they also supplied helmets for astronauts who piloted SpaceShipOne.
