Scene from "The Song of Hiawatha (Chapter XXI. The White Man's Foot)" - a long poem in the form of an epic, written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882). It tells of the life of the Ojibwe warrior Hiawatha, who lived in the 16th century. Chromolithograph, based on a drawing by Franz Xaver Simm (Austrian painter and illustrator, 1853 - 1918), published in 1888.
