Kentucky Senator Rand Paul asks Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo at his nomination hearing whether he believes the Iraq war was a mistake, Pompeo answering he was running a machine shop in Kansas at the time, that there was bad intelligence and he was one of few CIA director is willing to say they got it wrong despite enormous resources. Paul says it was geopolitically the wrong thing, ridding an enemy of Iran, emboldening Iran which President Trump called the worst decision ever made, needing to return from Afghanistan, being involved during his career whether he had good instincts and whether Pompeo would advocate staying forever in Afghanistan. Paul calls it another Iraq War, bombing Syria without permission, his concern that reflects millions of people who voted for President Trump thought it would be different rather than a traditional bipartisan consensus to Bob everywhere and be everywhere in the world.
