Conservative leader David Cameron's JP Morgan lecture

Conservative leader David Cameron's JP Morgan lecture; - In analysing the threat, I would like to go back to September 11th / I was working in my constituency and news came of the attack, the first thing I thought about was Samantha my wife, who was in Manhattan, she'd flown there to open a new store / It took hours to get through on the mobile and I remember sitting watching on TV as those towers came crashing down / I used to go there for meetings before I came an MP, I looked on with horror, wondered what kind of world had dawned that morning / 9/11 was a wake up call indeed / The first attack on the World Trade Centre abck in 1993, the horrific embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, those things should have woken us up / 9/11 alerted us to a security threat on a new and unprecedented scale opening us up to a world in which we needed new thinking / All that we have learnt conforms this picture, there are some who do not appreciate the threat we face / They believe it's no different from threats from terrorism in the past like the IRA / This threat is different (SOUND INTERFERENCE) We are dealing with people who will do anything, to kill to further their aims, these people include a number of our citizens, they are driven by an incorrect version of their Islamic faith / There is no list of demands we can accept, this terrorism cannot be appeased, it has to be defeated
