Built in 1968 during the high-growth period, it was one of the largest hotels on Hachijojima, but closed in 2006 due to the subsequent collapse of the bubble economy. It was then abandoned and the building was buried in the jungle. Today, it is a prominent ruin and popular amongst the cognoscenti. It is basically off-limits.
