(Original Caption) Head Lions See a Desert Monarch. Tucson, Arizona: Here are the current Captain and the Captains-elect of the Columbia University football team for 1934, inspecting a giant Cactus on the Desert near here. The Lions gridiron squad, as most everybody must know by know, is getting acquainted with western climate at Tucson, preliminary to engaging with the football team of Stanford University in that Rose Bowl football classic on New Year's Day. Oh yes, the gentlemen pictured, left to right are Joe Ferraro and Ed Brominski, who will divide team leadership honors in 1934, and Cliff Montgomery, who is top hand of the team this year. Cliff's reign ends with the big game.
