FDA Commissioner says at Senate hearing more can be done against Chinese illicit vape imports aimed at children

Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Martin Makary says in testimony at a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies budget hearing for fiscal year 2026 that illegal Chinese vaping products designed to attract children were video game vaping products with inhalation ports designed to addict young children so they could vape while playing games, with these products banned in China but made there showing up at US ports where FDA looked at them and put them back on ships that went to other ports making the system 100% porous and a joke, necessitating confiscation and seizure because kids from good families were addicted and could not stop.
