Protests in Georgia over suspension of EU talks continue for 28th day

TBILISI, GEORGIA - DEC. 25: Protests in Georgia over Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's decision last month to suspend negotiations on the country's bid to join the European Union entered their 28th day on Wednesday, Dec. 25. Thousands of demonstrators from across the country marched through the streets of Tbilisi, voicing their dissatisfaction with the government. They carried Georgian and EU flags alongside banners bearing anti-government slogans. The protests culminated in a large gathering outside the parliament building, where demonstrators chanted against the government and demanded new parliamentary elections. Adding a cultural element to the demonstration, a group of dancers performed traditional Georgian dances on Shota Rustaveli Avenue, drawing applause from the crowd assembled in front of the parliament.
