Congresswoman Jackson Lee remarks on patriotism of racial minorities in call for reparations

Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee says in morning hour debate that Americans were frightened about the discussion about differences on land first held by indigenous people, Native Americans, every other group came to America whether or not of European, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific, Southeast Asian, or African heritage as a descendant of enslaved Africans, they the only group that came as slaves to the country and held in bondage for over 200 years, and none had seen African Americans refuse their patriotism, refuse to serve, shed or refuse to shed blood for the freedom of the country or to wear the uniform, shy away from serving as firefighters and law enforcement, teachers, business persons, social justice leaders, nor women such as Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman or Coretta Scott King stand away from the fight.
