Picture shows the interior of the Parlement de Bretagne (In English: Parlement of Brittany), also called Parlement de Rennes (Parlement of Rennes), a royal and classical- style building, former siege of the Brittany parlement, a court of justice during the Ancien Régime era of France, from 1655 until the French Revolution (1791). The building is still a justice building nowadays and hosts the Court of Appeal of Rennes. It is classified as a historical monument since 1883. The picture is a low angle view of the ceiling of the former Salle des Enquêtes, showing the painting "Le Triomphe de la Justice" (The Triumph of Justice) by Louis Ferdinand Elle Le Jeune (1706), showing an allegory of Justice imploring religion.
