Excelsior, MN., Thursday, 1/1/04. Over 400 people took part in the 14th annual On It and In It new years plunge into Lake Minnetonka. The dive was held at the Bay View Event Center on the lake. The divers were divided into classes which featured the sharks with over 10 dives, barracudas with five to ten dives, muskies with four dives, northerns with three dives, walleyes with two dives, minnows with one dive and guppies with no dives. The event was started 14 years ago by Bill Wenmark and Ernie Schroeder and six other divers when they cut a hole in the ice on Lake Minnetonka and took the new years dip into the lake.
