SOMERVILLE - FEBRUARY 11: A piano joins the assorted objects for sale inside a lively Davis Square Goodwill store, where the assortment of people who donate and shop is as as varied as the things they carry with them. Movers Frankie Judd (left), and Greg Pavao (right), bring the upright piano into the facility. The piano seems to be around 75 years old, and according the store manager, Wayne Viens, it's out of tune but "sounds pretty good." Viens also remarks on the diversity of the clientele. "You've got the lady who lives in the mansion two doors down, and the guy buying 20 pairs of shoes to send to Haiti, and housewives and students, and artists," says Goodwill's Kathleen Melley, Director of External Affairs. "You never know what treasures you will find in a Goodwill Store. For some shoppers, it's the thrill of the hunt; for others, it's finding a bargain. The silver lining is that your purchases help to support Goodwill's job training programs and other services to prepare people for job success."
