The 24-year-old star is still in hospital two days after the crash but his condition is not serious, his spokesman said. New Zealand-born Bedingfield was driving a 4x4 vehicle near Whangarei in North Island when the accident happened. 29/01/04: Daniel Bedingfield who police in Wellington, New Zealand, has been charged with careless use of a motor vehicle following a crash in which he fractured two vertebrae in his neck. The 24-year-old New Zealand-born singer crashed the car he was driving on January 2 after attending a Youth For Christ rural summer camp and had to be cut from the wreckage by emergency crews.
