City where hottest conflicts intensified in ongoing war in Ukraine: Bakhmut

BAKHMUT, UKRAINE - NOVEMBER 24: Anadolu Agency team entered the city of Bakhmut, connected to the Donetsk front, which is known as the hottest point of the war that has been going on for about nine months between Russia and Ukraine, and viewed the latest situation on Thursday (Nov. 24). Silence prevails in the houses and empty streets, where most civilians have left because the city, which is under intense attacks, does not have gas, electricity, water, telephone and internet connection. The very few civilians who remain in Bakhmut, which bears the scars of war and where the sounds of explosions are frequently heard, prefer not to go out unless they have an urgent need, as the hot conflicts continue. Bakhmut's civilians, who used to go to neighboring villages to buy drinking water, food and other products, now faced transportation problems after the most important bridge in the center of the city was destroyed. While those with bicycles travel long distances to bring drinking water and food to their homes, other civilians risk themselves by walking over the pipe in the middle of the river.
