Gazan children relieved of distress momentarily through charity work in Eid-al Fitr

RAFAH, PALESTINE - APRIL 11, 2024: Qatar Charity held a massive festivity in Rafah on Thursday (April 11) to alleviate the suffering of Gazan children under the shadow of Israeli attacks disrupting the flow of daily life and traditional events. The video shows the merriment of people that permeates the atmosphere. Although Palestinians are devoid of the holiday spirit shared across the Muslim community in Eid al-Fitr, they were able to mentally distance themselves from the dire conditions they faced thanks to a large festivity held by Qatar Charity. On the second day of Eid al-Fitr, At least 10 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the blockaded Gaza Strip. The Israeli army has pounded the Gaza Strip since an Oct. 7 cross-border attack by Hamas, which killed nearly 1,200 people. The war has killed more than 33,500 people and injured over 76,000 others, causing mass destruction, and displacement and bringing its population of more than 2 million on the verge of famine. Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which has ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
